German officials send Dr Fischer and Herr Schroeder to Paris to discuss readjusting the reparations schedule and possibly suspend or delay payments. Reichsbank seeks to steady the mark, with moratorium debate tied to Paris talks and Reparations Commission stance.
Paris July 9 Associated Press reports a special Allied powers meeting to discuss Germany's request for a two year moratorium on cash indemnity payments. German envoys, led by Bergmann, seek a formal hearing before the Reparation Commission. A technical Guarantees Committee in Paris will study Germany's capacity to pay and impact on any delay.
Berlin dispatches quote German Chancellor Michaelis stating Germany cannot settle wartime reparations in gold. He notes the allied commission may seek a moral moratorium as he returns to Germany, with the issue continuing on page two.
Paris July 9 Foreign Minister Schanzer of Maly tells Universal Service the inter allied debts are a world tragedy. He says war borrowed billions fuel economic chaos in Europe and that a rapid debt solution is unlikely. He notes Germany may meet July 15 reparations but cannot sustain future payments for long. Francis P. Garvan, president of the Chemical Foundation, attacks a Justice Department statement as false and accuses the department of pressuring a grand jury to indict. He contends the only inquiry into the transfer of wartime patent holdings was directed by Gaston Means and claims the grand jury threat is to frighten or force a flawed outcome.
A family of four suffered injuries when a car overturned at Pemroke and Putnam streets in a corner crash with another auto driven by Samuel Wabyda of Fwepney. The Cesare family Angeline and Title Cesare along with Mr and Mrs Cesare were cut and bruised but not seriously hurt. Emergency staff treated them at the scene. Police will interview drivers to assign responsibility and possible arrests. In a separate Lafayette street collision Vincent Rayburn and A B Feck crashed near Linden avenue injuring Carolanne Gallando and her five year old brother Edward, with internal injuries and scalp contusions. Gallando was taken to St Vincent's for observation. Minor accidents were reported with no injuries.

James Kelleher, a World War I veteran from this city, died at his Broad Street home after a brief illness. He enlisted locally, served 18 months overseas with Company 11 in the 41st Division, and is survived by his mother Mrs. Maris Kelleher and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Clark and Mrs. Charten Ecker. Jadee William Knowles and his brother-in-law Merton Alexander, both of Philadelphia, rescued Miss Salome Heulinge and two men from a capsized launch off Ewell's Point near Cape May harbor. The two rescuers assisted the stranded group to the small yacht’s launch as heavy seas raged. Names of the rescued woman’s companions and the boat's passengers were not fully learned.

Harvey P Miller of New York vice president of the Fairbanks Company died at 9:30 this morning in a Hutchinson hospital from injuries suffered in the Santa Fe collision near Burrton Kansas yesterday afternoon. Nine other persons were injured, three seriously.
