Fireworks toll rises in Briégenort Fourth of July celebration

A two child family tragedy plus multiple injuries mar Briégenort’s Fourth of July events as fireworks caused a fatal blast. A nine year old boy died at St Vincent’s after his face hands and body were burned. His sister, five, suffered minor burns and was treated then sent home. Other youths including a 17 year old with a hand wound and several minor injuries from sparkling debris were treated at the Emergency Hospital.

Despondent Ends Life With Bullet in Room

Despondent man Maisa Marga shot himself in his room at 265 Sheridan Street yesterday. He was found by police and died later at Bridgeport Hospital. Dr. B. J. Burns received the accident call and said the injuries were fatal despite preliminary treatment.

A quiet orderly Fourth of July included fireworks, park concerts, sports events, a circus, and large crowds at Seaside Park and Fairfield avenue tents. Four arrests for drunkenness or disturbing the peace were reported, with overall public conduct praised and no major disturbances.

Storekeeper Shot By Holdup Men

Storekeeper Charles Anruolo of 153 Church Street is in Bridgeport Hospital in serious condition after a ballet wound to the abdomen inflicted by one of three gunmen who entered his store last night to rob him. Anruolo was attended by Dr. Maxwell and operated on early this morning to save his life. Report errors noted regarding Georges M. Hames and George Fames Jr. The day saw heavy New York-bound train traffic with express trains, as many passengers traveled home after holidays, filling all cars on the line.

Germans at disarmament talks open with delay

Allied and German delegates met at the conference this week but the opening session lasted only about twenty minutes. Konstantin Fehrenbach arrived late to Villa Fraipeuse, while Premier Lloyd George came last. MARION Ohio July 5 Senator and Mrs Warren G Harding arrived from Washington for notification ceremonies. A sister embraced him while a kiss was placed on his cheek as campaign plans were discussed.
