The court action, to determine why Fitzgerald should not be reinstated, was not discussed and will be addressed next Tuesday.
The Hartford and York Transportation steamer Hartford was freed from ice at South Glastonbury today by the tug Spartan and resumed its voyage to New York with a large passenger load including a two year old child. The vessel had become ice bound Monday night during its Connecticut River passage and steered to shore after the break through channel.
Bridgeport faces two school bond items in Hartford with Senator Challenger steering a $2,700,000 Bridgeport school bond bill and a separate $1,105.60 general bond measure. He promises to sponsor the measures and points to his long ties with local education officials and ministers.
Stratford considers a 250000 bond issue for a new high school. Representative Beardsley outlines the plan, with Stratford’s finance board approving the proposal. The city may issue 207000 to begin construction, with completion expected years later and additional measures to follow if approved.
