Three bandits invade East Side home and assault elderly couple
Three men broke into the first floor of an East Side house at 1130 last night, beat 82 year old William Kurtzenacker and his 66 year old wife Catharine, then ransacked the home taking wallets and a purse containing $69. Police said one man ripped a wall phone, another grabbed Mr Kurtzenacker as he slept, and a third choked Mrs Kurtzenacker. The couple was hospitalized for examination.

Pay Hike Proposal Backed Lags in City Job Study
