Mrs. Coby Indicted for Second Degree Murder

Elizabeth Coby, 46, of Milford, indicted by a New Haven Superior Court Grand Jury for second degree murder in the fatal Dec. 17 shooting of her father, Jack Thompson, 74. Coroner Corrigan called the act a well formulated plan and criminally responsible, noting the revolver was assembled and loaded before the shot. Thompson died at Milford Hospital about an hour later amid prior disputes with his daughter. Trial set for February.

New Bill Backed for Alane Bridgeport Monroe Highway

Hartford January 17 Rep Rodney Eielson and Beulah Blackman introduce a bill to build a four lane highway from Bridgeport to Monroe via Trumbull extending an earlier plan from Congress Street to the Trumbull line. Stratford Proposes New High School After Committee Vote

The Stratford General Building committee urged the Town Council to approve construction of a new senior high school after three months of study. Two sites were examined Huntington road near Paradise Manor and the Wooster Junior High area. Architect services will be sought before selecting a site. Councilmen George F. Plane crash kills 12 in Alaska after takeoff

Settlement Reaches in Trumbull Truck Crash Suit

A $46,500 settlement ends a Superior court jury trial over a fatal truck auto crash in Trumbull. Damages claimed totaled $206,000 for the death of William J. Blasko, 23, of Pepper Street, a carpenter apprentice. The suit, filed by Lyn R. Blasko as administratrix, named D Addario Sand and Gravel Co. of Bridgeport and driver Peter Samoskevich of Trumbull. The collision occurred March 3, 1956 on Route 25 near Route 1M at about 1:25 a.m.
