Veterans Back Bill for Bonus In Legislature Support Voted

Exhausted deer rescued from Pequonnock River in Bridgeport
A deer hunted by dogs and frigid water was captured yesterday morning after hours of fleeing through snow. Deputy Game Warden A Joseph Williamson and Stanley Kellogg cared for the exhausted animal, which was later taken to Beardsley Park to be housed with a previously captured doe. Police and locals assisted, including Peter Flower and Benjamin Stromsky who carried the deer from a Henry Street basin and turned it over to game wardens.

Winsted man crushed by auto wheel in garage accident
Winsted resident George Hungerford died when the rear wheel of his car slipped from a jack and pinned him between the wheel and the garage wall. Medical examiner said vertebrae were fractured as the weight of the car crushed the neck. He left a widow and four siblings including Judge William Hungerford of Naugatuck.

Six Trainmen Hurt In New Haven Railroad Crash
