Jury Awards $2000 to Widow in Holt V McCarthy Case
In Superior Court a jury returned a verdict awarding John Holt administrator of Annie Elizabeth Holt’s estate $2000 in damages for her death. Holt sued for $10,000 claiming negligence when a McCarthy mobile struck and killed his wife near Wallfield and Wahlort avenues on November 6, 1915. The jury accepted the verdict. court adjourned for a short calendar session with jurors excused until Tuesday.

Frankels Sued by Bernstein and Kursman

Powder Explosion Destroys DuPont Plant Shed Near Uniontown
A blast at the DuPont Powder Company plant in Fairchance, six miles from Uniontown, shattered windows across the region after about 10,000 pounds of powder stored in the truck shed exploded. Four men were nearby. three escaped unhurt and one engineer was slightly injured. Local reports describe the explosion as catastrophic, leveling the shed and causing extensive damage.
