At Mitchel Field New York February 28 AP reports two army airmen Lieutenants Wilam A Gray and Willard J Darris are missing after leaving Langley Field Virginia in a Dr Haviland army plane with parachutes aboard. Fog and rough seas grounded search efforts but coast guard boats and a navy dirigible J-8 were deployed to locate wreckage and survivors. Both officers were unmarried with Gray 28 and Harris 39. Harris had served in a balloon company during the war.

Eighteen year old Howard Walkes of the Lyric hotel was arrested on breach of the peace charges after Detective George Sitena and Detective Sergeant Shuons identified him in connection with an attempted holdup of Motorman John Fitzpatrick at Beardsley park. Four witnesses matched Walkes in a lineup. bonds were set at 1400 dollars. He denies involvement.
