Five Stratford Teens Return Home From Maryland Detour
Five Stratford teenagers who disappeared Friday were recovered in Maryland and returned to Stratford with their parents and detectives. Four were released to parental custody after questioning. 18 year old Raymond Mellor Jr. was held on a $1000 bond for contributing to the delinquency of minors and waived extradition to Connecticut authorities. Mellor planned to flee to Florida with about $20 in cash. two 13 year old girls were reunited with their families, and Kathleen Benedetto, 13, was driven home by her father. The missing teens were later picked up by state police after their car was found abandoned with little money remaining.
