Treasurer Loses Plea For Salary For Legion Work

Hartford February 15 Judge W M Matthis denied a motion to dissolve a temporary injunction blocking Frank Butterworth of New Haven from drawing a salary of 809 a month for administering the state fund for disabled war veterans. The injunction was granted on behalf of two American Legion members. Butterworth, former Yale football star, said the salary was a minor issue and that resigning would allow his successor to receive a salary provided for him. A meeting of Legion advisers is set for Friday to decide the next court steps.
