Nab Suspect In Kidnap and Drive to Georgia

Ay man charged with kidnapping a gas station attendant in Massachusetts, then shooting him and dragging him to Georgia in a car trunk, was held without bond. Donald Frank Maskell of Quincy arrested in Stafford on kidnapping and related charges. companion Angela Nimmons, 18, held on interstate transportation of a stolen vehicle. Police say Maskell drove victim 1100 miles to Effijay, Ga, where the shooting occurred. Nimmons, a German citizen in the U.S. five months, was in custody on similar charges.

Congress Street Church to Move to Trumbull Site

The Rev. Harald C. Smith announced at the annual meeting that Congress Street Church will relocate from 197 Congress Street to 364 White Plain Road in Trumbull. Services begin April 17 in the existing building as the 10 member congregation, in existence 105 years, seeks funds to build a new church. A fundraising committee of Carl Mack Charles Vitwer and Mrs Frank Foehrenbach will solicit donations.

Man Slain in Grill: Feud Ends in Shooting

A four year feud ended when one man was shot seven times with an automatic pistol during an argument at APs Grill 93 Booth Street. Jose V. Rodriguez 36 is charged with murder and held without bail after allegedly shooting Nieves who confessed and was questioned at headquarters.

Burglars Loot Stores In Bridgeport Downtown

Bridgeport burglars continued to strike for a week with several downtown stores hit. Gehman s Radio and TV at 40 Huntington Turnpike reported 12 TV sets missing after a forced rear door. Other targets on Old Post Office Arcade included Gasbaud Gift Shop and Albrecht s Clothing Store with about $100 missing from the clothing shop. Goubaud s location also checked. $25 cash missing.

Rem arms earnings set all time record

Remington Arms Company announced consolidated sales for 1965 totaled 95.9 million dollars, up from 83.7 million. Consolidated net income was 8.9 million dollars or 1.23 a share, vs 7.7 million and 1.01 a share in 1964. The gains come from record commercial sales volume.
