Roberto Mackno of Maurice Istreet Norwalk was listed in fair condition with head injuries after a 9 20 p m crash on the eastbound Connecticut turnpike between exits 19 and 20. The wrecked car caught fire at about 10 05 p m while being towed by Circle Auto of Fairfield, burning near Bronson road exit and destroying the vehicle. Fire units battled the blaze and the tow truckback was scorched. Details remained unavailable at press time.

A nine year old Dedufour child dies from crash injuries while a gunman fires a .30 caliber rifle at a car, killing occupants. Mr Dedufour is held without bond as police investigate. Mrs Rae and Jeanette were indoors with other Dedufour children. Case set for Trumbull Circuit Court February 13.

Missionaries Rescued After Dalat Compound Attack

U S troops rescued 34 missionaries from a hilltop compound near Dalat before VC overruns. Among those saved were Rev James Lewis and family from Ottumwa Iowa and others from Omaha New Jersey Hamden and Burlington.
