Aged Italian Statesman Attacks Wilson Notes to Italy
In Rome on December 28 Senator Pulle, a veteran Bersaglieri officer, told the Senate that President Wilson’s messages to Italy carried an arrogant tone unseen in the last century toward a principality. He urged Italy to hold Vojvodina and Dalmatia, defended D Annunzio, and argued for regular troops to seize Fiume. He contrasted Wilson’s stance with his own view of foreign policy and noted Italian passion for Fiume and Dalmatia.
