Lawyers Work to Clear Book for Publication

Secret meetings were under way to secure approval for The Death of a President by Harper Row. Lawyers received four extra days to negotiate after a compromise with Mrs Kennedy’s representatives and Cowles Communications. Look magazine plans to run parts of the 80,000 word book with some deletions, while sections unfavorable to Johnson stay. Mrs Kennedy and her children are booked to fly to Antigua on March 26 ahead of a defamation hearing against Cowles, Harper Row and Manchester.

Two Parolees Hit With Five Murders in Utah

Two Salt Lake City parolees Myron D. Lance 25 and Walter Bernard Kelbach 28 were arraigned on first degree murder charges linked to five slayings in northern Utah over the past five days. They were captured after a roadblock east of Salt Lake City following the slayings of a cab driver near the Municipal Airport and two men in a tavern shooting. Authorities say evidence ties them to the weekend stabbing deaths of two 18 year old service station attendants abducted from pirate jobs and found in remote county country. Arraignments are set in Tooele and Summit counties Friday.

Big Decorated Yule Tree Vanished From Horvath Home

Police report a 145 foot tall Christmas tree with lights and decorations stolen from in front of Mr and Mrs David Horvaths home at 2447 Fairfield Avenue. Intruders cut guy ropes and an electrical cable to remove the tree from its base. witnesses saw nothing and no one reported seeing the 15 foot high decorations.

Stratford Seeks Assembly Help on District Redesign

The Stratford Town Council, in a special meeting, approved seeking a General Assembly special act to redraw the ten town election districts. Chairman Patrick J.
