Suffolk county grand jury in six months service found 402 indictments and urged mandatory immediate deportation of any alien found to carry a revolver. It cited grave public concern over revolver possession and warned of dangers from immigrants and youths. Two jurors dissented, saying liquor rather than liquor leads to crime.
John Custing eighteen, of Ocean drive West Stamford, drove a car that struck Mas dalena Lethmann and later Juhn Kearns. Kearns suffered a broken nose. Lethmann remains in precarious condition. Custing released on $3 000 bond. Vehicle had three other occupants Luella Duy3 Theodore Ward and Shermen Gue all from New York Jamaica L I.

Stamford in December report shows Selectman Andrew Schlechtwey sought Town Counsel Thomas J. Ryle’s opinion on how a street not formally accepted can be accepted and who may spend town funds on repairs. Ryle states no statute allows formal municipal acceptance. only the unorganized public can accept, and highway funds not earmarked for a specific road may be used to repair private ways.
Washington Dec 22 AP the Senate Judiciary sub committee chaired by Senator Walsh began hearings on steps by the Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice to curb possible antimerger tendencies in the 100 million dollar Wari Continental General Baking merger. Otis B Johnson testified that the inquiry started in 1924 after newspaper reports and was abandoned in 1925 for lack of funds. The case involved 74 plants with capacity of 1.25 billion pounds, about ten percent of US production. Jean Morgan Donshine of Bridgeport filed in Superior Court for a divorce from Arthur Donshine alleging intolerable cruelty. They wed November 27, 1909 in Bridgeport. She seeks alimony and custody of their child, Arihu Diedevick, aged 6.
