A Bridgeport delegation visited the Meriden Sanatorium for tuberculosis patients delivering gifts to 280 children. Nurses and Sunshine Club members joined a Christmas festival in the school building with Santa Claus presiding. Gifts included caps, a doll house, a tall toy, and cash from the American Chain Company and Smith-Murray store. Superintendent Gibson thanked the visitors for their cooperation and generosity.

In a chaotic morning raid eight armed men entered a market, bound and gagged two engineers and several shopkeepers, then rifled shops and escaped with about 8100. The victims, tied and forced to lie in the floor, were freed moments later by a passer-by who heard their groans.
