Odessa dispatch reports Dr Lutzenko, commander of Republican troops in Odessa and most of Ukraine, stating Ukrainians will welcome French troops only if aid aims to maintain order and install a democratic government. He says Hetman rule is over except in Kiev and warns against foreign troops as agents of reaction. French troops behind the water front have no relations with Ukrainian authorities beyond a Danish consul note.
George 8 Hawley of this city, chairman of the committee appointed by the Manufacturers' association of Connecticut, will probably call a meeting to be held at Hartford tomorrow morning to discuss cancellation procedures. Other members are E. O. Gosa of Waterbury, J. H. Otterson of New Haven, John Williams of Stamford, and Willis F. Hobbs of this city.
Plans are complete for St Mary’s Christmas entertainment in the hall on December 30 and 31 directed by Mrs Mary S Hancourt. Over 475 children will take part in an opening dance to In the Land of the Mystic Moon followed by a 70 child comedy and a minstrel show with Joseph F Hanecourt as interlocutor. Notable performers include Miss Elizabeth Spinning Dorothy French and Billy French. Proceeds go to St Mary’s church.
Former Bridgeport High students recently home from France are set to attend the Criterion staff Christmas social at the high school gym tonight. Alumni and many former students will join the event, with chaperones listed as Mr. and Mrs. T. S. Caskey, Miss Everett, Miss Kiely, Mr. Stedges, and Mr. Carr. Dancing begins at eight o'clock.
Bridgeport High School held Pig Tail Day events yesterday with students in varied outfits. The morning exercises drew praise for lively participation though some descriptions and phrasing are unclear in the OCR text.
