The Blue Ribbon Body company won a contract from the Fire Commissioners to paint seven fire apparatuses in standard red. Bids were $125 per piece for six and $146 for the seventh, totaling $895. Two pieces will be released at a time to complete the work quickly, with Chief Daniel B Johnson authorized to finalize handover decisions.
In Stamford a special town meeting approved a $3,000 quota for a state‑operated trade school. The selectmen may lease a factory building to house the school, financed by the town’s contribution and state equipment. Local business support, notably the Chamber of Commerce behind J M Wright, helped drive the effort.
