Bedford estate bootlegger case also emerges as authorities raid a Westport house and garage tied to EB Bedford and a man named Willan Erbe, with a net profit of 5700 and a detailed sales book showing costs and illicit manufacture.
A Texas arson charge followed the bank robbery attempt linked to Mrs Reberen Bradley Rogers who held up a Buda bank last Saturday. Authorities say she set a Roundrock house on fire to lure workers from Farmer State Bank and loot the Roundrock institution. Nathan Schwartz, 61, founder of Nathan Schwertz and Co and a Rodeth Sholom Congregation pioneer, died at his Park Avenue home after a sudden shock. Survived by his wife Martha and four sons Abraham J, Joseph, Werer, and Turman. Funeral at his late home at two this afternoon with Rabbi Hyman Kotle officiating. burial in Rodeth Sholom Cemetery.
SpringfieldMass December 15 AP A 70 year old woman Mrs Sarah Greenberg was found dead in her home from accidental gas poisoning. A string attached $1 468 to her body. Police note her only support was $3 weekly from two children by court order. Investigation considers whether the money relates to the death and gas setup. An Arabbe tube supplying gas to a cooking plate was improperly connected and not shut off.
Washington inc 14 AP efforts by Republican leaders to prevent Sanator elect Frank L Smith from being appointed to fill McKinley’s unexpired term. They fear stretched debate and excessive campaign spending. Smith pressed by Indiana Republicans to refuse the seat, while Democrats hold a watchful stance ahead of the first session.
