City Backs Wonderland of Ice Expansion With More City Funds
Park Commissioners approved phase two funding for the Wonderland of Ice renovation citing rising costs beyond initial estimates. City plans to add funds in next year’s budget to cover added costs while the board may reshape plans to complete the project. A hockey cup trophy was approved for a local high school team and $20,000 was transferred for Wardin Park development as part of the West Side Two Neighborhood Development Plan. The board discussed new tennis courts and skating rinks as part of Barnum Field improvements near Seaside Park.
