The Weather Bureau in Boston reports a developing coastal storm may bring rain and snow to southern New England. Coastal Connecticut could see mostly rain with less than an inch of snow, while northern Litchfield County may have 3 to 5 inches. Northeasterly winds could reach gale force, with colder air spreading inland to New Hampshire and Vermont.

Subway strike voted. transit unions clash with authorities
