Dr Brown Praises Tyndale Early Bible Translation

Dr Nerbert Brown at Olivet Congregational church praises William Tyndale for early English Bible work and its influence on the King James Version. Born 1484 in Gloucestershire, Tyndale studied at Oxford and Cambridge and translated in Cologne and Worms before his 1536 death ordered by Henry VIII. The sermon notes Tyndale’s impact on English literature, religion, and colonial American life, urging Bible influence to quiet unrest. In a separate item, Orpha J True, wife of Professor Alva True of Connecticut Agricultural College, dies at her home after a long illness.
