Judge delays custody ruling in habeas corpus case
Judge Abraham Bordon of Superior Court postponed for two weeks the habeas corpus hearing on Percival SH of Greenwich seeking his three children from estranged wife Dolores E Hill. Counsel for Mrs Hill, C Driscoll Grimes, said Mr Hill has been allowed reasonable contact. Also pending is a suit accusing Mr Hill of failure to provide proper financial support.

Norwich Fire Destroys New Church Building
Fire of undetermined origin leveled the Saints Peter and Paul parish recreation building in Norwich at 4 30 am. Pastor William J Baldwin said the structure was only partially insured and will be rebuilt. The blaze destroyed four classrooms in each wing, a large recreation hall, and a six room apartment on the second floor intended for visiting nuns.

Connecticut Tax Bureau shifts 82 state workers
Hartford December 2 AP Director James J Graham of the Connecticut Income Tax Bureau says 22 state employees are being transferred to other states. One Bridgeport employee with 20 years service among 32 total collection officers will report between December 10 and January 10. noncompliance may force employment changes. Transfers affect Hartford, Bridgeport, Waterbury, Torrington, Shelton, Bristol, New London, New Haven, Norwalk, Stamford, New Britain, and Greenwich offices, with assignments in Washington DC and several southern states.
