Aerialist Vernon Liedtke Dies In Pole Plunge
A 45 year old aerialist Vernon Liedtke known as the Sensational Orion fell from a 40 foot sway pole while practicing near his Dallas home. Neighbor Hal Pearce witnessed the accident and said the supporting pole may have snapped. Liedtke had appeared on national TV and planned a European tour next spring.

A 39-year-old chief petty officer, William H. Kelly, wanted for killing one man and wounding two others, was shot to death by a sheriff's posse in Osceola National Forest near Sanford Florida.
