Bridgeport Aldermen Gifted at Gala City Hall Meeting

At the annual meeting for the newly elected Bridgeport board, aldermen and incumbents were showered with bouquets as relatives crowded the chamber. Mayor urged rapid projects including a new bridge on Washington Avenue, opening Steeple Chase Island as an amusement area, new schools, a sewage plant, sidewalks standardization, and continued street and sewer work. Gifts included phonograph to the mayor, jewelry and watches for several aldermen, and a prank balloon in Alderman McCormick's chair. The mayor stressed citywide development and infrastructure in his message.
