Westport Prosecutor Seeks State Cost Reimbursement

Westport town prosecutor Stanley T. Jennings reports the state will reimburse town court costs in cases where the state police win or the charge is nolled or discharged. July costs total near $70 and will be charged to state funds, with expected future reimbursements. The change may lead to stricter enforcement of motor vehicle rules as warrants become less risky for prosecutors to issue.
