Westport reports the Flying Squadron a State Police unit led by Capt Frank N Nichols began patrols on the Post road from Westport to the Connecticut New York border. About 100 motorists faced summonses for motor vehicle violations and 42 violators were arrested for unlicensed driving overloaded trucks improper lights and brakes. Warnings were issued to 126 drivers as the squad enforces CT licensing and guards against liquor traffic during a safety drive.
