A three year old, Roy Chasgan, was saved from fire by Motorcycle Officer Thomas W Donnelly who entered a smoke filled home at 199 Federal Street after the mother, Marie Chasgan, left him sleeping. He found the child under a sink in the kitchen as flames consumed bedding. the officer and others extinguished the blaze and the infant was unharmed.
