Five Hurt In Bridgeport Stratford Auto Crashes
Nearly twenty incidents were logged as automobile crashes yesterday with five people injured. Mrs Maggie Tantimonico of Bridgeport and her husband Leonardo plus three children were bruised when their Barnum avenue car overturned near Otis street in Stratford. The Tantimonico family home is Bridgeport, and the accident occurred at 3 05 pm. A separate collision on Central avenue involved S A Bennett of Milford who hit a pole after veering onto the sidewalk. Bennett and his wife and two bystanders were cut by glass and hospitalized. Police arrested a man who claimed to be George Nordstrom of Remington street for suspected driving under the influence after a jitney crash on Iranisian avenue near Park Place. The Nordstrom crash caused heavy damage but no injuries. The report notes poor road surface and paving issues near Barnum avenue.

Five Die as Seaplane Crashes Into Santa Rosa Sound
PENSACOLA Fla Aug 19 Four men and one woman were killed instantly when a commercial seaplane piloted by Albert J Whitted of St Petersburg crashed into Santa Rosa Sound near Camp Walton forty miles from Pensacola. The bodies were recovered late this afternoon. victims named include Mrs Hubert H Harper Albert J Whitted Frasier Patterson Hugh D Brown and S D Camleman.
