Donovan Plans Third Run for Norwalk Mayor

Norwalk on August 17 reports Mayor Jeremiah Donovan, back from a month’s vacation, will seek re election for a third term. He first won in 1917, then 1919 with a landslide Democratic vote, overcoming a prior Republican majority of 5000. He declined comment on mandamus actions tied to a Board of Education dispute and is expected to appear before Judge John W Banks in the matter.

Aphasia Victim Arrested in Murder Case in Oregon

Portland, Aug 17. Dennis Russell, laborer of Roseburg, Oregon, was arrested in Canada in connection with a murder case. Dr R M Brutefield, Roseburg dentist, who was with the prisoner, claimed to suffer aphasia and cited flashes of memory since July 10, the day before the car was found wrecked and burned. The case centers on the maimed body found with the car.

Girl Pedestrian Killed by Auto On Bridgeport Turnpike

Beatrice Bristol 22 of East Haven died from a broken neck after being struck by an auto owned by Maurice Sugarman of Hartford on the Bridgeport turnpike Milford police report. She and a friend were walking when a large truck passed, followed by another vehicle. Sugarman was accompanied by a woman who gave her name as Creen.

Olivet pastor's mother dies in Fulton New York

Mrs. Sarah J. Brown, 81, mother of Dr. Herbert S Brown, pastor of Olivet Congregational church, died Tuesday at the Fulton home of her daughter Mrs. George L. Pratt. Deceived Lamb Confesses Death by Own Action

Police say John Lamb, 48, of 54 Union Square, killed by blows from a wrench during a confrontation with Mrs Elizabeth Wolfe at her Stratford Avenue home. Wolfe, a nurse by profession, claimed she used an assumed name. Lamb, badly beaten, left Bridgeport after the incident. no prosecution is planned.
