New Haven Aug. 10 A P report says Hugh J. Riley 31 suspended fireman and Robert E. McBride 26 were charged with burglary and theft after initial idleness charges. Both men are held on 1000 bonds as police probe the disappearance of supplies from a Congress avenue provision warehouse.

Three Arrested in Navy Copper Thefts at Newport
Investigations by local authorities and the Department of Justice into missing tin copper and brass stock from the naval torpedo station in Newport R I led to three arrests. Private Henry A Smith and Coxswain Henry Smith of the U S Navy were taken into custody at the station and Wolf Smith, a New York junk dealer, was arrested and jailed in District Court on a charge of larceny of pig copper and tin valued at 199 dollars found in his junk yard.
