Coroner hears light on Beers death in city collision
Witnesses testified at a coroner inquiry into the death of W. W. Beers of 1119 Stare Street after a motorized vehicle struck him on State Street. Sebystyan, the driver, insisted his car did not strike Beers, saying the man may have stumbled and hit his head on the pavement before Beers later died at St Vincent’s Hospital. The case, with a $1,000 bond set for the driver on a manslaughter charge, continues with further testimony tomorrow.
