William Wakeley 21 of TFalrs field sustained serious internal injuries when heavy iron rails being unloaded from a freight car fell and struck him. Dr Keegan and Emergency hospital staff ordered his transfer to Bridgeport hospital where he remains in critical condition.
Fire destroyed the Colonial Mill building and East Norwalk Yacht Club at the harbor edge in Norwalk. Estimated loss set at $17,000 with insurance partly covering it. Fire started in Hyman Feldman’s junk shop inside the Colonial structure and spread rapidly. origin undetermined. Six years earlier the yacht clubhouse burned. today’s building was nearly new.
Milford officers and motorcycle police halted a busy day of speeding with 25 motorists arrested. Charles ver, claiming to be a New York court offender, was among those nabbed as pursuit covered areas from the Bridgeport line to New Haven Avenue.
