Tobacco growers seek legal help over leaf sales
Hartford April 18 AP Several Connecticut Valley tobacco association members have consulted counsel to protect membership interests in selling the remainder of the 1924 1925 Virginia leaf crops. The recent sale of about 19 000 sides of broad leaf for roughly 175 000 is viewed by many as selling seven million pounds of tobacco short. Albert Fricke of Cast Hartford comments on the sale.

Tobacco sale sparks calls for action by district club
Man of the fourth district of the association said it was a crime to let the tobacco go for that price. He cited 19 000 cases and a $92 cage price with an average 26 cents per pound, noting high grades and many dos wrappers should have brought 33 to 40 cents. Members want future sales at better prices and plan to consult Hugh M Alcorn to represent them in any action.

Textile mill sale approved by high court in Boston
The Supreme Court affirmed a lowell textile plant sale to Marden and Murphy for 700000. The decision upholds Judge Morton’s decree and rejects arguments that a public auction would fetch a higher price, citing general textile industry conditions and comparable sales in other cities.
