An Army aeroplane damaged in a meadow near Black of Thirteen was repaired and flown from Fairfield. The craft, after parts were fixed, departed in the afternoon, with ground crews and officials noting the quick turnaround and safe takeoff toward Langley Field amid ceremonial acknowledgments and several attendees listed among the crowd.
An advertising notice from Bridgeport Theatre Exchange announces a New York excursion arranged for Monday morning April 16. Seats for the outing go on sale today, with management detailing the schedule and travel arrangements.
The Beridgenor Huachaol girls basketball team held its second annual banquet in the high school lunch room with over fifty attendees. The event featured dancing after a dinner, with board members and administrators present including Mrs Mary Cuties, Mrs A Smith, Principal James E Moore, Vice Principal Darwin Fiske, and Athletic Association president Charles Denny. Twelve cases occupied City court yesterday morning. William McMrhen of 162 Nickels Street was convicted of assaulting his mother and sentenced to ten days. Wagler Surkep of 77 Church Street and Theodore Lasko of 49 Hamilton Avenue faced assault charges. Surkep’s case was continued, Lasko fined $3 for drunkenness. Small fines were imposed on eight prisoners charged with drunkenness.
A local firm completed a major purchase through Maxwell Motors to outfit its sales force the order includes 100 Maxwell club coupes and 3 sedans. The vehicles will be distributed nationwide to support extensions of cash registers and expanding Remington products.
The Ideal firm plans to purchase and dispose of nearly 26,000 old cars held by Remington as agent. After a countrywide survey, buyers decided to handle the sale en masse rather than individually. The value approaches $100,000.
PF Gahan, Superintendent of Recreation, announced that about ten more locations on Fayerweather Island will be used this year. The Recreation Board issued about 43 camping permits last season at a five dollar fee, with preparations underway to improve the island before vacationists arrive. Come early and avoid the rush.
