Watery Rogers Held on Homicide Charge for Infant Death
Thurlow H. Rogers of Waterbury, Conn., is jailed in Schenectady on a homicide charge after allegedly chloroforming his two weeks old child, placing the body in a suitcase, and checking it at a New Haven railroad station. He confessed to police, saying the baby was unwanted and that his wife had died seven months earlier. He was found unconscious in a hotel room with a noose around his neck and is being treated for meningitis and sedative overdose.
