$22,000 Pledged at Kickoff of Rehab Center Drive
Edmund S. McLaughlin disclosed that 22000 in pledges and donations were collected at a kickoff meeting at People’s Savings Bank for Bridgeport Rehabilitation Center. Bridgeport Machines donated 15000, toward a 195000 goal to match Hubert T. Mandeville’s 250000 pledge with a May 1 deadline. Frederick R. Silliman urged broad civic support as Dr. Richard Herman outlined why the center must expand services and move to a larger facility near Bridgeport Hospital.
