Bridgeport Hydraulic Co Plans to Harness Easton Lake
The Bridgeport Hydraulic Co seeks to expand beyond Bridgeport to supply water for surrounding communities. It argues the 1921 act allowing rate changes under contract is invalid or misused, contending the police power cannot erase established terms. The case centers on whether extending water rights and funding dividends justifies revising rates, amid claims of overextension and profit motives.
