Hartford April 5 AP A Bridgeport construction worker was granted unemployment benefits for the three weeks he spent in Florida while seeking work. State Commissioner John Arcudi said the man’s period away was a genuine job search and reversed a prior ruling denying benefits. The case sparked local reaction as officials pledged to review ambulance procurement and related welfare filings. The man had lived with his wife and two children in Florida, hoping for work, but found no openings amid a slow construction market.

Frankfurter Collapses at Desk Taken to Hospital

Justice Felix Prankfurt of the Supreme Court collapsed at his desk in the Supreme Court building and was taken by ambulance to George Washington University Hospital. A court spokesman said there was no immediate announcement of his condition, but noted he had not suffered a coronary attack. Connecticut PGA names Rolf pro of the year nominee Ninney
