Stamford Voters Gather To Decide School Problems
Stamford voters will convene a special town meeting at the high school for action on two school building committee sub committee reports. They may authorize an $85,900 purchase of land near Rogera School for a grammar school addition, with site options on Summer street or Bedford street. The Ferris tract on Summer street, about 19 acres, is favored by most and priced at $200,000, with condemnation seen as delaying and uncertain. The plan envisions space for a high school and a grammar school, plus outdoor facilities for up to 3,000 pupils.
