He vowed to meet propaganda with propaganda and use the press to advance the campaign. Bartholow mocked Elmer Gantry as many laughed at the remarks while Ashbury labeled the church a cancerous growth. He urged cooperation in the two year education drive, saying the period covers the most critical time in the prohibition fight and that the eyes of the United States are on New York.
Washington April 4. Under the Votsruad Act federal courts have no jurisdiction over vehicles used to transport liquor unless the driver or owner was arrested at the time of the violation and subsequently convicted, the District of Columbia Court of Appeal says.
