35 Cuban rebels end hunger strike at Brownsville

Thirty five rebels halted a seven day hunger strike in Brownsville after a Coast Guard cutter stopped their rented boat in the Gulf of Mexico. Four leaders were returned to Brownsville as a habeas corpus hearing was set for Friday.

In Waterbury on April 2 AP reports a 11 year old pupil punched teacher Lawrence Rubin in class after being sent to the principal's office. The student threatened to return and punch Rubin's teeth out if suspended. Principal Frank G Regan suspended the teen and the boy left but later returned and repeated the threat. students intervened.
