Coroner Holds Hearing on Death of Czako
Coroner J. J. Phelan conducted an inquest in Norwalk into the death of John Czako, a constable, killed in a collision with a trolley while riding a bicycle. Witnesses could not explain why Czako swerved toward the car, and the pavement flaw was deemed not responsible. Czako rode with his head down five feet from the rail, swerved as the trolley approached, and was thrown into the street as the car halted two-thirds its length.

Separately the military, motor vehicles, health, and Fairfield County assessor departments received various appropriations and transfers, including 50,000 for Camp Devens encampment, 17,735 to pay April bills, 3,129 for April 1 bills, and 4,500 to operate health until May 1, plus 1,400 for special acts printing.
