A dying pig kicked by foot led to injuries for butcher Staphen Milay, 5, at Hmorgonay hospital yesterday afternoon. Doctor W B Tvoa said six stitches were needed to close a gash on his cheek after the pig, shot earlier, lashed out.
Oil companies announce crude price hikes prompting a near ten percent rise in gasoline and fuel oil. Bridgeport dealers report higher costs and list new per unit prices including gasoline up to 19.1 cents per gallon and various oil grades with barrel increases ranging from 38 to 146 cents.
A tumultuous session in Rome sees the constituent assembly oppose a communist move to investigate the poles action. Delegates report rival claims of victory as the motion is defeated 218 to 111 amid provincial unrest.
President Truman issued a warning on the eve of the last U S troops leaving Italy that the United States will consider appropriate measures if Italy’s freedom is threatened directly or indirectly.
