Adult Education To Begin In Bridgeport
Bridgeport hosts an Adult Basic Education program meeting on Tuesday October 1 1968 at 7 00 P M to organize classes for adults 18 and up. Funded by the Texas Education Agency and Cooke County Public Schools Gainesville the program offers GED readiness citizenship study and basic courses across reading math English spelling vocabulary writing science and social studies. Classes are first come first served across an 11 county area with at least 15 qualified students per class. The Bridgeport School Board approved a budget of 1,250,337 with receipts 644,228 and a tax rate of 1.90 per 100 value. Building Fund balance increases. 1.50 to Local Maintenance and 0.40 to Interest and Sinking. Skirt length policy amended to 2.5 inches above knee. Enrollment High in Public Relations Course at Bridgeport
About forty persons enrolled Monday evening in a public relations course offered by the Division of Extension of the University of Texas. The four night program runs through Thursday at 7 30 p m in the Home Economics Department of Bridgeport High School and targets managers owners and employees of retail wholesale and service businesses. Frank A Driskill of the University teaches the course with a background in public relations sales and political work and holds BA and MS degrees.

Collision Claims Lives in Sunday Fort Worth Area
A two car crash near Saginaw Sunday killed Bridgeport resident Eloya Sanchez and Fort Worth residents Mrs. Ruby Eddleman and her granddaughter Deanne Jo Denham Jr. Critically injured were Eloya’s husband Gilberto and their sons Gilberto Jr and Richard. Investigators say a car passed a third vehicle and met an oncoming car in the opposite lane.
