Edgbert Hudson Last WWII Lost Battalion Survivor
Meredith Hudson and her grandfather Edgbert Hudson recall the 2nd Battalion 131st Field Artillery from Wise County and Jacksboro who survived three and a half years as POWs after Java surrender. The 400 strong Lost Battalion endured harsh captivation, later laboring to build a 260 mile railroad in Burma before release in 1945.

Major highway changes planned for Wise County roads
TxDOT Area Engineer Bill Nelson announced major traffic pattern changes on FM 1810 US 380 and SH 114 as Duminck Bros. of Roanoke begins milling eight miles of road this week. Crews will widen and repave, causing detours, narrowed lanes, and temporary closures through spring 2006.
