The Bridgeport Masonic Lodge hosted a dinner for local teachers with an undertaker from Weatherford as guest speaker. Joe Vickers served as master of ceremonies while J L McClung arranged the event. The piece also notes a bond election discussion and a poke at newspaper billing practices.

Lone Star Producing Company opened its North Texas District Office in Bridgeport last weekend with the Gas Supply Department also moving. A.L. Poynor is district superintendent and J.M. Bradford district engineer. The new office houses production supervision for 13 North Texas counties and coordinates with producers tied to Lone Star’s gathering system. Nine Lone Star families have relocated to Bridgeport with more to follow. secretary Mrs. Lorene Denton has lived in Bridgeport for years.
Bridgeport residents approve a park improvement bond with 331 votes for and 61 against to fund a recreational center. The measure follows strong show of donated labor and money, as mayoral candidate Joe Vickers plans a formal statement next week.
