The Bridgeport Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual banquet Monday night March 27 at Sally Martin Hall on Lake Bridgeport. The program includes the Bridgeport Citizen of the Year presentation and introductions of new officers and directors. Howard Meyers serves as president with Billy Marney as first vice president Carl Privitt as second vice president and Reba Jewell Hawkins as secretary.

Satellite Corporation of Dallas has purchased the Sondra Lin Stock Farm a 2500 acre ranch near Decatur. Developers plan a city for 50000 people with homes apartments and condos retail space industrial sites and extensive greenbelts recreation areas and an 18 hole golf course with clubhouse. Lake Residents Petition For FM Highway On Lake Bridgeport
Lake Shore residents circulated a petition with about 600 signatures urging a farm to market highway from FM 1658 south of the dam to U S 380. The petition, presented to County Judge John Winder, would replace a graveled road serving about 500 people including a school and mail route.
