Simpson Found Guilty and Sentenced to 25 Years in Prison
Rebecca Simpson, 44, was found guilty of solicitation of capital murder after a two week trial. She was sentenced to 25 years in prison and a $10,000 fine for trying to hire a hit man to assault Danny Watts and murder his new wife Shemane Watts. Video evidence from a Southlake Costco meeting with a undercover officer as the supposed hit man played a central role.

Bay Fest to host sole county fireworks display
Wise County will see only one Fourth of July fireworks show this year the Runaway Bay display Saturday July 1 starting at dusk near the Runaway Bay bridge. Acting Police Chief Philip Rodriguez urged cautious driving as traffic is expected to surge for the event noting gate entry points traffic direction and parking rules along Highway 380. He also said personal fireworks are banned and the show will be enforced.
