Five 12 year olds charged with 850 shoplifting spree
A group of five 12 year old girls faces Class C misdemeanor charges after a two day shoplifting spree in downtown Bridgeport nets $850 in merchandise from Mattie's Place Duck walls Jearene's Cottage and Maria's Gift Shoppe. The thefts were coordinated with diversions while others carried items to a canvas bag and several were later found in homes or at shops. Police recovered items totaling 600 from Jearene's Cottage 150 from Mattie's Place 85 from Duckwalls and 20 from Maria's Gift Shoppe.

Runaway Bay Man Arrested in Counterfeiting Case
Phillip Wayne Decker, 45, of Runaway Bay, was arrested February 24 with several thousand dollars in counterfeit $100 bills, a computer, printer, and software seized. Police say the investigation tied to an organized crime ring spanning North Texas, with more than 20 indictments and about half a million dollars recovered. Decker faced federal charges and had pleaded guilty earlier to passing counterfeit currency.
